January Newsletter
Wow, where did the time go?
2023 has been a jam packed year to say the least. It was a productive year for art! I continued working on watercolor environments and am in a place where I am pretty happy with what I am making. Landscapes, birds, and the occasional fan art is what my art has been made up of this year. I actually moved away from drawing destiny fan art and instead I draw our shenanigans that happen in dnd. It's been a blast! Overall I am happy with what I've made this year, and I am excited to share what I have in store for 2024. This year I am going to try and be better about reaching out once a month in a newsletter where I share what I've been up to, give an opportunity to suggest what I draw next, let you know what events I will be at this year, and any other important news that comes up. Thank you all for supporting me over the years. I wouldn't be able to do what I do without ya, plus it keeps the chickens happy too. Happy holidays and I will see you in 2024.
Comic Con is coming...
It is that time of the year where I am starting to frantically figure out what I need to do for comic con. I am currently taking inventory of all of the prints and stickers and my room is A DISASTER. It's looking like I will have a lot of the usual for AK Comic Con, lots of birds, lots of landscapes, heck I will even have a bunch of leftover destiny stuff from GCX too. I plan on having new stuff as well. I am currently formatting some landscape paintings into 5x7 print packs, but also 11x17 prints as well! There will also be new stickers. I have a whole series of pokemon stickers (that aren't birds) that I am ordering, as well as a few random birds that I have drawn in the last few months.
New things in the Works
I think the biggest thing I am working on is a fantasy bird guide that you can use in Dungeons and Dragons. All of the species created are based off of real birds, but with a magical twist so that they fit into the world of dnd. I am about half way done with the project and I am super excited to share them with you. I am shooting to have them printed and done in March, but I should have a prototype to show at my booth at Alaska Comic Con.
Other than that it is mostly the usual. I am doing plenty of Alaskan landscapes and birds. I have a few fan art pieces planned for AKCC, and I am looking into new kinds of merch I can make.
Ideas I am kicking around
- I want to make an art book! I want to collect my best works from the last 5 years or so and organize it into a professional looking, soft- bound book.
- Remember those dragon bookmarks I did? I want to paint those dragons again in a series of prints that could also be used for tcg playmats.
- I might get back into drawing atc (artist trading cards)
